Danny Sneed and Jerry Brightman
I had the chance to see an old friend last night, Jerry Brightman, while he was here in Phoenix. I thought he needed to see the hot player here so I took him to see Danny Sneed in Cave Creek, AZ. Danny played great as usual and....Jerry sat-in. Normally this wouldn't be any big deal(besides his playing!), but you gotta understand that Danny plays this whacky tuning (it's like a D9th with his pedals down and an open G tuning without). Jerry actually navigated thru in grand style. I wasn't about to try!
Anyhow, it was good to see that he still isn't afraid to tackle hurdles. Good job Jerry!
[This message was edited by Miguel e Smith on 19 February 2002 at 07:33 AM.]

Jerry came in to the club where I work and amazed me! He played my guitar! Nobody's done that before, and he sounded real good! Sorry about the weird tuning...next time bring your guitar.
Thanks, Danny
PS. Mike Smith said one day he'll bring his guitar in....well, he's got the talking part done! Ha!! Don't forget to buy Mike's CD when you're in Dallas.
Thanks, Danny

Mike, Danny, and all,
If you want a challange, I suggest you try
it on Danny's guitar. Pedals down, when normally up, a difficult tuning on both necks with string placement, and pedals in different postions..I'm not sure I met the challange as well as you indicated.
Thanks to Danny and Mike for the great night and thanks to all the email I have received about this.
I look forward to continuing my steel guitar journey wherever it may lead me, and I hope that I can always provide support to anyone who ever needs it.
I have had a great deal of personal
challanges recently in my life and as I
continue to sort it all out, I know that I
have arrived with the support of many fine
steel guitar family and friends.
Some have reffered to me as a steel guitar hero, and I just want everyone to know that, "You are the true hero's in my heart".
Thanks,
Jerry http://www.slidestation.com
[This message was edited by Jerry Brightman on 20 February 2002 at 04:11 PM.]

Danny, where the heck Is Morristown Arizona?. Is that where that cat was born?.
I should talk. We'll be moving to Surprise Arizona In May or June and we'll be out to see you then. It's only about 40 miles If you take 99th Ave out to the Carefree highway and just go east.
And they serve some fine steaks out there at the Buffalo Chip. They don't cook them with buffalo.....no...they wouldn't do that.... would they????.

I met Danny in 1975, and have always admired his picking.
Good to see he is still at it.
