Steve
I'll be playing at the Stagecoach Dance Hall on E. Belknap, in beautiful downtown Ft. Worth on Friday with Johnny Bush and Justin Trevino.

The Stagecoach sounds like the place to be Friday night. I'll try to make it down there myself! Image Herbster, any chance of leaving our names at the door?

Big Balls of Cowtown in the Stockyards is always hot on the weekends. This weekend's lineup:

Friday February 15, 2002 - Carl Vaughn -Western Swing & Honky Tonk. 9:00 pm - 1:45 am. $6.00

Saturday February 16, 2002 - Gary Gibson Band Honky Tonkin’ Music – 9:00 pm - 1:45 am. $6.00

Welcome to Cowtown. The nice thing about the Stockyards is that you are in wandering distance of several live music venues.

Damon Gray is down here working the small stage at Billy Bobs this week. Great guy and he has half a dozen Wynn Stewart tunes on his songlist...which is about six more than most singers I know.

If you're still around Sunday evening, the Gary Carpenter Combo is the must-hear group. They play in west Fort Worth at The Back Forty. Tiny venue; huge talent. If it's too windy to fish, I'll take you over there.

Steve, there's usually no steel picker there, but just across Main street from Cattleman's in the Stockyards is a little place where they play some more "Texas Country" music. Place called the "Thirsty Armadillo" by my recollection. Pretty good little place to relax, nice mannered crowd, and pretty respectable beer prices.

And like everybody else has said, you're within wandering distance of William Robert's and other good country bars. Personally, I wouldn't waste my money again on the cover for the White Elephant Saloon... we must have gotten there on a crummy cover band night.

I'd come up there and show you around town, but I've just GOT to go fishing down Galveston way... I know you'll understand. Great hearing you at Harmonie Hall, sorry I couldn't stay longer!

I just got back from a Texas swingin' time! Image Got to visit with Steve Stallings, Bill Simmons, and Peggy Poovey. Herb, Johnny, Justin, and the rest of the band were tearin' it up! Image Image Johnny did several Waylon tunes which was a very nice tribute.

I'll be playing with Kelly Spinks at Lake Ivy, near Brownwood, TX tomorrow night 2/16, if anyone is near the area and wants to stop by. I've never been there so don't ask me for directions. I had a good time at this. It was fun to visit with Herb, Jim and Bill. Justin Trevino is a real talent. I don't know who the lead guitarist is for Bush, but he needs to put out a CD of his own. This boy can flat sing....
