In the studio, when I know ahead of time, I'll bring my '65 Bassman. With the volume at 3 it starts to break up, around 4 it gives that warm, tube amp distortion that can't be reproduced electronically by any device I'm aware of. For live stuff, I'm with my old buddy Tom -- the ProCo Rat is as good as anything. We Michigan boys gotta support our local suppliers.
