My favorites (among many) -- The Buddy Emmons "black" album, Curly Chalker's "More Ways to Play", Jimmy Day's "Steel Guitar and Strings", the new Joaquin Murphy album recorded by Chas Smith(does this make it more than two?), the Maurice Anderson/Tommy Morrell sextet sessions, the Lloyd Green album with "Feelings" on it . . . these among many. Those are the albums that I feel a heart connection to.

the new Joaquin Murphy album recorded by Chas Smith
It was recorded by Mike Johnstone. Chas built the 9 string pedal guitar that Murph played.

My "sleeper" favorite is Jeff Newman's "Wanted For Steeling." Not only is it an incredible instructional course, it has some of the greatest straight-ahead steel on one of the prettiest collection of songs ever.

"Hawaiian Beach Party" by Jerry Byrd is a refreshing look-see into what old time tone and style is all about. For a simpler appreciation of tone....."Hi Fi Guitar" by Jerry Byrd is another classic example, IMHO.

Its not fair to limit us to only two, but if I have to. The two albums that stand out for me is Suite Steel on Elektra and Buddy Emmons, The Rainbow album. But then again, Jerry Byrds, Memories of Maria is and the battle goes on and on and on.
