Well folks, it arrived this week and was well worth the wait. By the way, it sounds and plays as good as it looks! Amazing work Mr. Crawford.

That's one great looking guitar, Jon. See guys, a steel guitar doesn't have to be black to look good and I'll bet it sounds every bit as good as a black guitar.

By the way, what is that 'mica pattern called?

Lee, I don't remember the mica pattern name. It's an Italian mica my friend and fellow forumite Rob Segal found a while back. I pinched it from him.

The name of the mica pattern is Carbon Fiber. It is one of the prettiest mica's I've ever seen. I watched Jimmie build this guitar and heard it through a single amp with no effects while he was tweeking and adjusting it. This guitar put my JCH to shame on tone and overall sound. There is something magic in this guitar and Jon is one lucky guy to have such a fine instrument. I told Jimmie he had better remember what he put into it so he can put the exact same into my new JCH.

Very nice guitar. I note that much of the guitar appears identical to my new Legrande II. Are those BL 710s? Out of curiosity, I note no prices quoted on the website. What does a straight forward D10 8x5 sell for?

Mike W (I'll leave the spelling to Seymore

) and I have exchanged an email about these guitars. I'd like to thank Mike for answering my questions. He did point out that while the hardware appears similar to an Emmons, Jimmy has his custom made to his own specs. It is nice to see so many wonderful instruments to choose from!

Purdy guitar Jon, By the way, just wanted to again say how great your playing was in Norwalk. I had only seen you play mandolin before, and was really impressed with your steel playing and also your song selection.
Let me know if you have 'Surfer Moon' tabbed out, it would be great to have. Good luck with the new steel.

congrats on your new guitar! I was over at Jimmies the day he packed it up and had the priveledge of playing it before hand. It's a great feeling guitar with "killer tone" and sustain for days. I know the lengths in which Jimmie goes in building his guitars and you have a real winner there! I am counting the days until mine is ready. Congratulations again and ENJOY!
