The only lacquered steel I have ever owned was a Sho-Bud..And I think most of them were finished that way..They still have a reputation for being some of the best sounding PSG's out there..

I don't want to zap anyone's sale, but I've always played laminate covered steels. I like the wearability of the laminate compared to the more fragile "wood" bodies.
The tone of the woods vs laminate cover is in the ear of the person listening.
Buddy has played laminate covered steels for many years. Is his tone bad???

Jack, your right about BE's tone.But Lloyd played lacquer and his tone was pretty good also
Maybe it was due to the Sho-Bud LDG's green finish?
