I'm on Live Radio (and Internet) Today
Now's my turn to put up or shut up, walk the walk... Your turn to see if my bark is as bad as my bite...
I just found out two days ago that I'll be doing an hour of live radio today with a pickup trio -- a bass player I've never met and a guitar player I've met twice. Live and totally unrehearsed. Classic country. They'll be doing tunes they've done before and I'll be adding the icing on the cake with pedal steel.
Just found out last night it will be streamed on the internet -- www.wbtnam.org starting at 1 pm EST.
I know I do a lot of talking here on the Forum. Let's see how I do when the heat is on...

I give music lessons on several different instruments in Cambridge, NY (between Bennington, VT and Albany, NY). But my true love is pedal steel. I've been obsessed with steel since 1972; don't know anything I'd rather talk about... www.barryhyman.com

Did you play it yet and are you just waiting for it to be broadcast, or is it live?
If the former, how do you think you did? If the latter - break a leg!!!
I'll try and listen, but I rarely have any luck with on-line radio; I've yet to hear a peep out of Steel Radio!

It was totally live and totally unrehearsed, but went quite well. Dave Lively, the host of the weekly show, is a really good singer and guitarist. Mert Snow, the bass player/singer I had never met before, was over 70 and an absolutely wonderful guy; we found out we had a lot of friends in common. And I was loose and happy, playing my best. The radio station got three times as many internet listeners as it had ever had before, so no doubt we'll do it again. Successful experiment!!!
Roger -- I think you need to download some simple program that makes streaming radio happen; shouldn't be hard to find out how to get it working. Sorry you missed it...

The music was smokin' but the mix was ragged -- the guitarist/singer was also engineering and the balance was not right. So you don't want to hear the cd they burned, sorry...

Roger, I'm sorry you haven't been able to get Steel Radio. Do you have Winamp on your computer? If you open Winamp first and then open Steel Radio perhaps that will help. My wife and I host a 2 hour Gospel Program on Steel Radio every 2nd Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
We play about 25 different artists every show (all gospel). Here's hoping you can finally get steelradio.com!
