Classic push-pull sound. Good example of why miking the steel and going through the mains is so important. Great playing. Excellent execution. Wish my band would play a oountry song like that.

I have had several emails from folks wanting to know how I set the Nashville 400 I used in the clip.
Nashville 400 (without factory mod).
Low: +6
Mid: -3
Shift: 800Hz
Hi: +3
Presence: +3
Reverb: 0 (of course)

My 1979 Emmons P/P has the factory pickup in it. Thanks for asking!

I keep on wondering whether to take the time and money to buy and learn Pedals.
That first solo section where you are playing two complete lines plus bass just about makes up my mind.
If that sort of stuff is possible, then a pedal steel will do what I want to hear.
Whether I will ever be able to make a Pedal Steel do that is another matter, but it will be fun finding out!

That's a pretty good drive from Leesville, La, but it would be worth the trip to hear more. And I'll buy the catfish buffet. That has more soul than anything I've heard!
