I think we can leave out John Hughey because he recorded on Conways early country hits, but then no more steel.
George Straits first two had Sonny Garrish, 3 & 4 was Weldon, then it was Paul until 1992 when he went on a two year tour with "The Boss", Bruce Springstien. (I think i've been hearing some of his guitar licks on Pauls steel lately). Then Buddy was on "Holding My Own" and "Pure Country" and Paul has been on the rest to present. If
Strait isn't number one on number ones, he's real close. So I'm going to stay with Paul Franklin.
Somebody is working on this as we type and read. Should know in a couple of days and i'll let you know.
