Man ! I had one of them uncles too --became bald at an early age--got to drinking hair restorer straight from the jug--no hair growth except his eye brows became very very long and bushy. He let them suckers grow and combed them straight back over his head and worked pretty darned well until the dry summer of "83" --He got a bad case of hay fever and flogged himself to death -- Oh well !

A very famous country singer who is in the Country Music Hall Of Fame once said that all steel players had brain damage. As I think about the bottle of JD's I kept at my side and a steeler friend that kept a bottle of vodka at his side and one that ate chocolate covered cherries and washed them down with beer , the singer was probably right. OK guys, I have a serious question for you all. :
Am I the only truly "normal" guy in this industry? (HA!)
Yes, I knew Eddie, Sweet milk made him sick once. Drank kerosene to settel his stomach. He tried to drink gasolene, but once while doing so, he lit a cigarette and blew his nose off! He ran the 100 yard dash very fast but couldn't hold enough gas to run a cross country race. Then the pollution standards were put into effect. He had to wear a catolitic perverter, cut his milage even more. Eddie Weird? Naw,we are the weird ones!

This is my kind of thread!! I don't care what bOb says, THIS IS CONSTRUCTIVE!!!
I know a guy (steel player) that brushed his teeth with gun powder. He died though, shot his mouth off once to often!
They used to shoot him out of a cannon, they will never find anyone else of his caliber. He left this world with a bang! He ended up with nice teeth though. He had a little gap between his front teeth, big gap now.. Madison Tn.will fit between them.
Is this a great thread or what? Who started this thing? Call me and I'll send you a dozen ,011 strings.

Intraverted maybe too. Thats what I am. I flunked typing in High School for whistling steel guitar turnarounds while all the typewriters were going. I was Drum Major in the High School band and used to try to figure out ways to create arrangements for the band that sounded Country. This is all 20 years before I owned my first pedal guitar, but I was sure thinking about a "Marching" Pedal Steel. I mean look at John Philip Sousa. Hes got a "Marching Tuba" named after him. SOUSA-phone!
I don't think its weird. But I've sure had lots of other folks, musicians and non-musicians say weird things to and about me. I actually think it is comical. I think other musicians are "Jealous". I know people who say, "MAN, that guy is WEIRD"!

After reading this, I have a stomach achin from all laughing! Reading this got to be like a 100 or so sit-ups at the gym, but a lot funnier. Actually it´s not quite easy to get things done at the rest room in this state.
All the nuttities here proves that we got to be in a good mental health, especially put together.
Tony – me and all my friends feel great compassion with you! Those who credited you for carrying your steel, but not for playing it, must have a cruel kind of humor, and the same must be true for us, ´cause we´ve laughed a lot at it (please excuse us!).
And Bobbe - I use .009:ths for the high G# because my Sierra S-14 has a looooong scale, and an even longer neck. In fact I´ve had had to employ a bar maid to reach the far left fret positions.
I also use the tow wire for the tour bus as string 14, the looooow E.
Anders - it only hurts when I laugh - Brundell in a snow white Falun, Sweden.

You got it backwards Larry, the question is how many meals for the cats will the pit bull provide. There have been a few encounters, and the cats ALWAYS win. The dog may be bigger and stronger, but the cats are faster and smarter, and they've got claws. how long can a pit bull servive on seven cats?
The cats always gather around the steel and listen to me practice. The dog always follows me into the studio in the basement and also listens.
